Explore the extent to which the world as we currently understand it has been built on data collected primarily about men. Women's data is often not even collected. This lack of women's data has relatively harmless ramifications such as to what temperature office spaces are air conditioned and heated. But, it has much more serious consequences concerning women's health and safety. And, this lack of data is self-perpetuating when history is written without women's perspective thus discouraging girls from pursuing education and careers in certain fields. We will discuss Criado Perez's assertions, data and lack data. Even if attendees do not agree with all her assertions, this webcast on this thought provoking book will provide an interesting lens in which to consider sex and gender data bias.
