This session is designed to help small plan actuaries understand the concepts of FAS87. Attendees will learn about tools and resources to help their clients with audit reporting required by banks, private equity partners, and other outside parties that are valuing their business.
About the Speakers
Daniel Jock, President, Actuary, Cornerstone Retirement
Daniel Jock is an Enrolled Actuary and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Daniel is also a contributing educator of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, specifically the Society of Enrolled Actuaries. Daniel graduated from Western New England University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics. Daniel worked for MassMutual Life in Springfield, Massachusetts for 7 years performing consulting and analysis for public and private defined benefit plan ranging in size from 100 to 5,000 participants. Daniel worked at 2 other small consulting firms before starting his consulting practice, Cornerstone Retirement, in 2016. In 2021, Daniel acquired Qualified Plan Consultants (QPC), a firm founded in 1983 by Lawrence Starr, an industry icon for education and professionalism in various industry societies. Together, Cornerstone and QPC continue to provide highly customized retirement plan design and consulting to many different types of employers.
Sara Stone, Enrolled Actuary, Fidus Actuarial Solutions
Sara Stone is an Enrolled Actuary and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Sara has 20 years of large private pension plan experience. She recently joined Fidus Actuarial Solutions where is shifting her focus to small pension plans.
