About the Speaker
Scott T. Roth, Senior Vice President, Divisional CIO Workplace Solutions
Scott T. Roth is senior vice president and divisional chief information officer for Workplace Solutions for Lincoln Financial Group and is a member of the company’s Information Technology (IT) Senior Leadership team.In his role, Scott is responsible for all facets of technology, including strategy, execution, administrative & claims systems, architecture, data, omnichannel experiences, finance, and operations for both Group Protection and Retirement Plan Services IT. Scott is also responsible for our enterprise data management & web platform teams, which include customer 360, identity management, secure portals, workflow, straight-through processing, and several other technologies that leverage cloud, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.In addition to his core responsibilities, he is co-Executive Sponsor for the Latino BRG, Executive Sponsor for IT’s migration to the cloud, and operating model initiatives. He also sits on the Philadelphia/Radnor Charitable Contributions Committee, is responsible for our codeLinc hackathon, and participates in a Corporate Leadership Group (CLG) mentoring program. In prior roles at Lincoln, Scott was responsible for omnichannel delivery for all of Lincoln’s lines of business. The Lincoln omnichannel portfolio included digital experience and design, web, mobile, correspondence, chat, voice bots, integrated voice response, and customer contact center applications. He has made substantial contributions to position his teams and business partners to innovate and successfully address the opportunities in the ever-changing market and competitive environment through a series of effective and impactful solutions. Scott has more than 30 years of IT experience. He joined Lincoln fifteen years ago from MetLife, where he led the turnaround of their broker-dealer application development unit. His previous experience includes leadership roles at Lehman Brothers and three software company start-ups. Scott holds a Master of Telecommunications and Information Management degree from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering and a B.A. in Accounting and Information Systems from the City University of New York. He resides in Millsboro, DE, with his wife and three children.


Talbert Thomas, Senior Vice President, Divisional CIO, Head of AI and Corporate Technology for Lincoln Financial
Talbert Thomas is the Divisional CIO, Head of AI and Corporate Technology for Lincoln Financial. He leads the company’s enterprise AI COE and corporate technology teams. He is responsible for the design and implementation of the enterprise artificial intelligence technology strategy, enabling platforms and capabilities. He oversees the corporate technology teams, implementing solutions across Investments, Finance, Actuarial and other business functions. He is also responsible for overseeing enterprise architecture, IT operations data and analytics, advanced engineering and agile delivery practices. He has a proven track record of implementing innovative capabilities at scale that result in sustainable value capture. Talbert joined Lincoln in 2017 as an external consultant, bringing with him more than a decade of experience in developing and executing business and technology strategy and transformation efforts. Previously, he served as Senior Vice president of IT Strategy, Operations & Finance where he led the company’s technology and digital strategy and oversaw the execution of a large portfolio of transformative efforts. Prior to that he was Vice President of Digital Strategy Management where he played a key role in establishing the company’s current digital operating model, leading digital centers of excellence across process robotics, customer experience and agile delivery practices with a keen focus on value capture. Prior to Lincoln, Talbert was senior manager for strategy at Accenture where he led strategic and operations engagements that improved enterprise operating capabilities and enhanced the ability to effectively deliver products to consumers and enable profitable growth on behalf of large financial services and insurance companies. Talbert is an experienced thought leader and strategy consultant with a proven track record of executing transformative efforts to drive operation effectiveness, improve the customer experience and enable growth. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from University of Virginia in 2001 and achieved an MBA in finance & strategy from Emory University Goizueta Business School in 2011. Talbert grew up in Mount Vernon, NY and currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
